ONEIDA AREA CIVIC CHORALE
OACC Presented "A Concert of Hope: featuring Sing For The Cure"
The Oneida Area Civic Chorale presented “A Concert of Hope: featuring Sing for the Cure”, an emotion-filled 11 piece work, which covers the journey from receiving a cancer diagnosis through survival. While originally written about breast cancer, these pieces are applicable to any cancer diagnosis. It is a labor of love dedicated to those with the disease, and those who love and care for them.
The performance was held Sunday June 2nd at 4:00 PM at the Oneida High School Auditorium. The 100 voice Chorale, a community chorus under the direction of Mark Bunce, was accompanied by guest soloists Jessica Lotyzewski and Joseph Carneyand , a ten piece chamber orchestra and narrated by Bonnie Hibbard. The chorale also performed “I’ll Make The Difference” by Moses Hogan and the Mark Hayes arrangement of “You’ll Never Walk Alone/Climb Every Mountain.” Corporate Sponsors for the Oneida Chorale are Nye Automotive Group and AmeriCU Investments. As part of the performance of this emotion-filled work, the OACC accepted donations In Honor of and In Memory Of those who have succumbed to, are currently fighting, or have recovered from cancer or a life-threatening illness. Memorial and Honor listings were published and acknowledged in the concert program. All monies received for the honor/memorial listings were donated to Jessica's Heroes and the American Cancer Society. |
