OACC Presented "A Classical Christmas"

The Oneida Area Civic Chorale presented “A Classical Christmas”, a collection of classical and traditional Christmas music, on Sunday, December 7, 2025 in the VVS High School Auditorium in Verona. The Chorale, under the direction of Mark Bunce, was accompanied by Janice Plumley, collaborative pianist and joined by a chamber orchestra. This concert was dedicated in memory of Daryl Wonderly, who founded the Chorale in 1967 and directed it until his retirement in 1995.
Mr. Wonderly's leadership, dedication and hard work during the Chorale's first 28 years laid the foundation for the successful decades of singing that have followed. Throughout his life, Daryl shared his gift as a music teacher, choir director, and community leader. He taught vocal music at Oneida High School, where his “Concert Choir” attained high honors and superior ratings for many years. He also served as music director at St John’s Episcopal Church in Oneida, and as the Winter Chapel Choir Director at the Voyager Resort in Tucson, Arizona, where his leadership and spirit have left a lasting legacy. Daryl passed away in Tucson on July 8, 2025, at the age of 92. Chorale To Commission Piece in Memory of Daryl Wonderly
In honor of Daryl Wonderly’s life as an educator and musician, and in conjunction with the 60th anniversary of the Oneida Area Civic Chorale, we are commissioning a composer to write a piece in memory of Daryl for the Chorale’s 2026- 2027 concert season.
